Lee grew up working on a dairy farm with both of his grandfathers. That is where his love for the outdoors started. His dream since childhood was to have a family and run a farm so that is exactly what he set out to do. He married Sandy in 1990 and they had their first daughter, Emily, in 1993. Three years later in 1996 their daughter Kendall came along. Lee was finally able to achieve his dream when he and Sandy purchased their farm in Whitesburg. They worked hard to get their farm up and running. With just 4 cows,3 horses, and several chickens their life was changing right before their eyes. Several years later he met a lady named Judy Perdue. He was bush hogging her pastures at the time but later purchased the farm in Villa Rica from her.
Over the years Lee has passed his love for agriculture along to his family. They have joined with him in his desire to teach everyone about where their food comes from and what sustainability looks like. This is how Powers Family Farm came to be. Their desire and love for the community and farm finally came together. They are able to do exactly what they love all from the place they love most.
